Police FAST Team and Gaston County Probation and Parole Team Up for Operation “Safe Streets"

On Thursday, October 1, 2026, the Gaston County Police Department’s Fugitive Apprehension and Suspect Tracking (FAST) Team partnered with the North Carolina Department of Adult Correction’s Probation and Parole Division to conduct Operation Safe Streets. This operation was a coordinated enforcement initiative targeting repeat offenders, violent offenders, and individuals under probation supervision. The operation focused on identifying gang activity, locating illegal firearms and narcotics, and apprehending wanted fugitives.

During the operation, officers arrested 13 individuals on a total of 35 charges, including narcotics trafficking, felony drug offenses, felony probation violations, and domestic violence related offenses. FAST Team members also recovered a stolen vehicle and located a fugitive wanted out of South Carolina.

The Gaston County Police Department extends its appreciation to the North Carolina Department of Adult Correction's Probation and Parole Division, the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office, and all participating agencies for their continued partnership and commitment to public safety. Operations such as Safe Streets demonstrate the importance of agency cooperation in addressing criminal activity and enhancing the safety of our communities.
