Spirits of the Past

Smartt Field Open House and Pumpkin Drop
9 a.m.-3 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 24 at St. Charles County Regional Airport – Smartt Field
Get a closer view (but not too close) as the World War II B-25 Mitchell and TBM Avenger bombers attempt to carpet bomb a target with pumpkins, plus smaller aircraft dropping pumpkin payloads of their own. While you’re there, tour the Commemorative Air Force Museum, check out historic military aircraft and vehicle displays, and get an up-close view of experimental and home-built aircraft. Learn more about how to participate in the pumpkin drop and Warbird rides. Admission to the event is free.
