Public Notice – Gaston County 2027 Urgent Repair Program
Gaston County has been awarded $165,000 by the North Carolina Housing Finance Agency (NCHFA) under the 2027 cycle of the Urgent Repair Program to assist Gaston County residents. This program provides funds to assist very-low and low-income households in addressing housing conditions that pose imminent threats to their life and/or safety or in providing accessibility modifications and other repairs necessary to prevent displacement. Applicants must own and occupy the home in need of repairs and must meet one of the following criteria: have a special need (e.g., elderly, handicapped, or disabled); be a veteran; be a single parent with a dependent living at home; be a large family with 5 household members; or a household with a child below six with lead hazards in home. The goal of the program is to assist approximately 10 households. This program is sponsored by Gaston County with funds provided by the NC Housing Trust Fund. Applications will be available beginning September 1st, 2026 and must be submitted by September 30th, 2026.
