Governor Greg Abbott appointed Matthew Erickson as Director of the Regulatory Compliance Division for a term set to expire on February 1, 2027. The Regulatory Compliance Division reviews rules affecting market competition proposed by state licensing agencies.
Matthew Erickson of Austin serves as a staff attorney with the Supreme Court of Texas. He previously worked as a senior associate at Baker Botts L.L.P. and as a law clerk for the Honorable Don Willett and the Honorable Gene E.K. Pratter. He is a member of the State Bar of Texas and the New York State Bar. Additionally, he is a senior warden with the Immanuel Anglican Church and a volunteer with Safe Families for Children. Erickson received a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Business Administration from Colorado Christian University and a Juris Doctor from Northwestern University School of Law.
