Chairman Cassidy Applauds Senate Confirmation of HELP Committee Nominees

WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA), Chairman of the U.S. Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions (HELP) Committee, released a statement after the U.S. Senate confirmed several nominees to serve at the National Labor Relations Board, Bureau of Labor Statistics, and National Endowment for the Humanities.

“By confirming these nominees, we give American workers and their families a better chance to succeed,” said Dr. Cassidy. “As Chairman of the HELP Committee, I’m committed to working with the administration to advance a pro-worker, pro-family agenda.”

Under Cassidy’s leadership, the HELP Committee previously advanced Dr. Matsumoto, Mr. Macy, and Mr. McDonald by party-line votes of 12-11, and Mr. Prouty by a vote of 17-6.

The confirmed nominees include:

  • James Macy, nominee to be a Member, National Labor Relations Board
  • David Prouty, nominee to be a Member, National Labor Relations Board
  • Dr. Brett Matsumoto, nominee to be Commissioner of Labor Statistics
  • Michael McDonald, nominee to be Chairperson of the National Endowment for the Humanities
