Sanders Renews Push to End US Army Aid to Israel

(MENAFN) According to reports, US Senator Bernie Sanders has once again called for an end to US military assistance to Israel, sharply criticizing Israeli military operations and settler activity in the West Bank.

In a post on the social media platform X, Sanders expanded his criticism beyond Gaza, stating:
"It's not just Gaza, Iran and Lebanon," he said.

Sanders said that since October 2023, Israeli soldiers and settlers have killed 1,071 Palestinians, demolished more than 6,000 homes, and established over 200 illegal outposts in the West Bank.

"No more U.S. military aid to Israel," he added.

Reports indicate that the US Senate recently rejected two proposals introduced by Sanders aimed at blocking nearly $500 million in arms sales to Israel.

The United States has long faced criticism over its military support for Israel during the Gaza conflict, where reports say more than 72,000 people, mostly women and children, have been killed since October 7, 2023. A ceasefire was reached in October 2025, though violations have reportedly continued.

According to reports, several US lawmakers have increasingly called for an end to weapons transfers, arguing that continued support makes the United States complicit in the war in Gaza.
